Our Mission
Established in 1992, the Health Partners Initiative (HPI) is a private, not for profit organization which represents health care providers and concerned citizens working together to help assess the health needs of our community, coordinate services to address gaps, and develop resources for strategic initiatives in areas of greatest need.
To achieve this goal, we are committed to the following principles:
- Emphasize that health needs to be defined broadly, including environmental, physical, spiritual, cultural, and emotional well-being.
- Partner with the people of Lancaster County to achieve the Healthy People 2010 recommendations through a public education and resource development process.
- Recognize and develop individual strengths.
- Acknowledge and cultivate existing and new leadership.
- Focus on why health problems exist and direct resources at root causes.
- Advance our mission by pursuing resources, both financial and human.
- Collaborate with other community organizations to ensure the effective use of resources and to avoid duplications of effort.
- Continually strive to recruit Board Members and facilitate a community process that is truly representative of our community's diversity.
